MORRIS, Leslie Bankier (1888-1955)
Born 23 June 1888 at Steels Creek. The eldest child of Edward Charles Morris and Margaret Clelland.
Leslie enlisted 4 March 1916. At that time he was employed as a carpenter. He left Australia on the Euripides 4 Apr 1916. He returned to Australia 12 November 1916.
Leslie married Frances Mary Jell of Yarra Glen in 1916. Frances was the daughter of George and Mary Ann Jell of Yarra Glen. They had two sons, John Leslie (born 1917) and Alan Bankier (born 1918). Alan (known as Mickey) was killed in action in Libya in October 1942. Leslie died 24 August 1955.
